Swim Team is over until next year!
As for our new addition Spooks, he is settling in well. His blood work came back all clear, his fecal test was positive for parasites and is now on an oral worm medication for 10 days, after that he'll be in the clear.
My brother Travis and his girlfriend Samantha will be arriving next week. Stay tuned for my daily RV updates!

Our newest addition!
Meet Spooks!
He was found roaming the streets and living in a hole in the ground at a neighbours house. No one has claimed him.
So off to the Vet we went. Had a check up and all went well. His age is estimated around a year.... As most of you know I'm the furthest from a cat person, but I will describe this guy as a dog in a cat suit! Super friendly, very huggy and very chatty! More pics to come!

Another Swim Meet down!
This was our second last swim meet of the season and one of the biggest!
Shaina finished with: 3rd-freestyle relay, 7th-medley relay, 8th-individual backstroke, 9th-individual freestyle.
Hunter finished with: 4th-freestyle relay, 3rd-medley relay, 2nd-individual backstroke, 3rd-individual butterfly.
Next Thursday is our final meet of the season. It is an all relay event with all teams in the Fox Valley competing... Also the parents and coaches compete...always exciting for the kids!

A lazy day at the pool!
Another hot one today... The mercury hit 38°C, which gave us an excuse to head to the pool to cool off....
We have a big swim meet approaching this Thursday... Nearly 250 swimmers will be competing, plus all the parents and grandparents.... HUGE!
Stay tuned!

It's still hot!
This is my kind of summer!
The kids are back from summer camp... They had a great time and want to go back next year for 2 weeks! I received one letter from Shaina, nothing from Hunter, so I assumed no news was good news. Camp is not a cheap week away from mum and dad, I just need the money tree to grow more money for next year!
Swim Team is winding down, only 2 meets left and the season will be over until next year.
Dave started rehab on his shoulder today. The physio therapist was impressed with his mobility: 70%, more than expected! He will continue physio for the next 3-4 months, twice a week....he will have an appointment with the doctor again in August for a review.
For me, work has been a little slow, which is normal for this time of year. Kids are still on school holidays and families are taking trips or just simply enjoying the outdoors, rather than eating in doors!

1st Day of Camp!
Today we dropped Shaina, Hunter and Olivia off at camp. This is their first ever summer camp, which runs for a whole week!
Camp Anokiji is a 3 hour drive north from our house, into the state of Wisconsin. The weather this week looks like it's going to be in the mid to late 20's... Perfect for swimming, hiking, sailing, horseback riding and oodles of other activities! Dave and I have the week to ourselves...which is going to be strange at first, but I'm sure we'll adjust!
Tonight we started with a nice Shiraz, fine selection of cheeses and finished with a lovely sauterne!

It's hot out!
This is what we do when it's hot out! It's 7:30pm and 36°C!.... All you need is a pool, pizza and wine!

July 4th... Independence Day!
For most it's a public holiday today. I on the other hand had to work! The restaurant business doesn't stop serving food because it's a public holiday. We were actually busier than expected, the weather has been very hot over the last few weeks. Rather than barbequing in 37°C (100°F in the old system), people have opted to eat indoors in the airconditioning!
Fireworks are usually let off today also, but because of the dry spell some councils have canceled their shows. Things are quite dry and the slightest spark could start a fire. Dave bought our usual supply of fireworks, but I don't think we will set them off either, there are a lot of brown lawns and cedar roofs around us...so may be just some sparklers for the kids.
Happy 4th of July!
